One obvious difference is the distance. It was a problem for many years to establish a friendship, yet now Internet can make the communication between a person who is in Japan and one who is in Peru will be faster than 15 years ago, when if you wanted have a friend from another country, you have to travel in order to meet a new foreign friend or wait until some tourist came to your city. Nevertheless, Internet cannot make that you feel the touch of a friend like a kiss or a hug, things that when you are having a conversation in person can do.
Other difference between these types of conversations is the media of communication. While computer is the only way to have a meeting by internet, the ways that you have to have a meeting in person are diverse. For example you can visit a park, take a walk for the downtown of your city or go out to a mall.
Although there are some differences between these kinds of meetings, there are similarities, too.
Both ways of conversation have the same propose. Not only have a meeting by internet but also have a meeting in person give us the possibility to find out a new friend. When you are in a room chat is because you want to meet new people; similarly, if you are in party, you have the possibility to establish a friendship.
A final similarity is that both meeting by Internet and meeting in person gives you the opportunity to learn more. Meeting by Internet can be compared with meeting in person because you can share information, ideas and opinions about different topics and they help you to increase your knowledge.
Lastly, both types of meeting have similarities but also differences, which make the two kinds very useful for us, it means that we have both possibilities to choose or use both in order to start a more active social life.
